When I was a kid, there were honeybees in the wall of my bedroom. (they liked it was warm) There'd been attempts to remove them before we moved in, and there were attempts after we moved out, and the only thing that eventually did it was actually removing the entire wall.
Yep, Dennis told me about 1/3 of their jobs they have to remove a wall to ‘get’ all the bees. And they have to then seal it up after they spray it to ‘kill’ the attractant the bees use to locate the hive.
I was in high school when they first started reporting about them down in Mexico (I was in AZ at the time), and we didn't think they would ever get to the US.
I note that it's a feral swarm, not one of those cute lil housebroken swarms.
Africanized honey bees are no joke, for sure, Jim. It seems every couple of years here in the Austin area someone gets killed by them.
