This sounds like fun! I have the perfect story idea for this!

It's a blast, Michael. Great themes and awesome stories. I was blessed to have my own stories make it into the last two. 🙇‍♂️

Prohibition fits right in, Michael. Go for it.

I can tell you, that the editors aren't asking us to write tight variations on a theme with homework to guide us.

The first antho I made it into was cattlemen. That one had my own trad western set in the 1870s. A former Texas Ranger tracks down a fugitive. Other stories included lycanthropes and other elements. It wasn't just straight up trad westerns or historical fiction.

The second was library creatures; in mine, a dragon hoards books instead of gold, and problems ensue when a new librarian comes to town. The other stories had a wide range of creatures and settings.

Suggestion: check out all the previous anthologies. You'll be helping the library and getting a better idea for what Jim's looking for.

And read the description carefully in Jim's post. If you can improv off that main theme with an entertaining story, I'm betting you have a solid chance at getting in. 🤞
