I have a fundamental problem with the current crop of Non Government Organizations. My opinion is that they have been set up to legally do what the actual government is prohibited from doing. The charities that finance illegal immigration just chap my butt. In my world, I would defund every NGO and not send them another dime.

I have issues with government being in the charity business, be it direct (various programs) or indirect (grants such as fund the above). Anything beyond a "hand up" is corrosive to both society and to the individual who becomes long-term dependent on the "aid."

So many religious leaders, of all faiths, forget, or never knew, whom they served. I didn't understand this until I started meeting military chaplains. The first one I met was an O-6. He was at my office on the first day of my first assignment. I didn't even see the chaplain insignia, so I snapped to. He shook my hand and said, "Father Ed." A good man and a main of faith, though he did need help with his military bearing after 30 years practice in civilian life. After that, the vast majority of chaplains I met were obsessed with their military retirement and making rank rather than tending to their flocks. When the C19 vaccine rolled out with reports of the vaccine line using the cells of aborted babies to develop that vaccine, I don't recall any military chaplains giving religious exemptions to service members. 🤔 You can't put your faith first, let alone guide others in that faith, if you're putting a military retirement ahead of that faith, IMHO. "Pick up your cross and follow me."

Three good comments ahead of me. It's a grift. I've got nothing to add.
