Given my location and upbringing, it is no surprise to anyone that I was a frequent visitor to a uniquely named Italian restaurant on Mockingbird, known for its distinctive ownership.

Joe was always good to us Jesuit students, especially to me. We talked frequently, and he often acted as a mentor and a source of sage—if not colorful—advice.

Once, in the ’80s, I asked him about that day. Now, I do not believe he would ever tell anyone the whole truth, even if you asked him what stock was behind the bar. (He owned the bar; his brother ran the restaurant.) However, I also do not believe he ever directly lied to me. What he said to me was along the lines of, “Why would my family want to harm our first Catholic President?”

He was old and tired when I knew him, but his eyes were still Joe’s.

I doubt this will settle anything. I've already seen people commenting that if it doesn't say that their favorite theory is true, that's just proof that the evidence has been destroyed.

You’re probably right, Sam, and it will just set off another round of conspiracy theories.

There goes Sam with a classical sense of common sense.

Sam, if common sense were common you would have gotten elected

While it may not give definitive answers on everything, I hope it gives enough information for further followup by those with the proper skills and so inclined. Weaponized Autism and widely distributed areas of specialty could uncover some things if they're there.

"That's how a conspiracy works. Them boys on the grassy knoll, they were dead within three hours. Buried in the damn desert. Unmarked graves out past Terlingua."

"And you know this for a fact?"

"Still got the shovel."
