Snow down on the Gulf coast from Texas to Florida.
Photos and videos from beaches along the Gulf Coast showed a rare and stunning sight Tuesday: snow.
In Galveston, video from Galveston.com showed snow blanketing the beach, concealing the sand underneath. Waves crashed in the distance, with dark, gloomy skies behind them.
States from Texas to the Carolinas are experiencing a once-in-a-generation snowstorm this week. It has already resulted in a Blizzard Warning being issued in Louisiana for the first time ever.
More visuals from Galveston showed the snow-covered beach, a sharp contrast to the usually green, sunny landscape. Reports from the National Weather Service indicate the area has received about 1-3 inches of snow.

This is what happens when the Jet Stream really dips deep into the south! You get extreme cold mixing with warm moist air over the Gulf...
Ironically, we had blue skies, and COLD temps (for us), it was 10 degrees yesterday morning, but no moisture at all. It finally got to freezing late yesterday afternoon, with a high of 32.
Today it's supposed to be in the 50s and 60s by the weekend!
It's winter, what can you say???
I know a lot of y'all are laughing at us, and that's fine, but I don't envy those of you that are in the negative numbers, and all I can say is STAY WARM!

I’m not laughing at you guys down there-but I’m fascinated by this storm. Once in a lifetime indeed!
But you know we’re in the midst of global warming-I mean “climate change.”
Wow! Been to Galveston before, and yep! never looked like that! What a cool miracle!
