Has been ‘interesting’, to put it mildly...
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is investigating whether two development companies behind a master-planned North Texas community formerly known as East Plano Islamic Center City discriminated against people’s religion or national origin.
The investigation comes after several state officials accused entities behind the development that marketed to Muslims and is now called The Meadow of religious discrimination. It also comes after the U.S. Justice Department quietly closed its own probe into the housing project, saying the developers agreed to follow federal fair housing laws.

It appears there is a ‘lot’ more to this than is covered in the news. It appears a company out of the Middle East was actually the true backer, and there were a number of stories told to the Collins County leadership in ‘private’ meetings that were...shall we say, less than truthful.
It also appears there was a two tier ‘system’ of buying in, with preferences given to muslims and apparently ‘members’ of the East Plano Islamic Center.
This mess is what led to Gov. Abbott signing a law in Texas that Sharia compounds and laws is not allowed in Texas, HERE. Of course ‘that’ has upset the LWL and usual suspects...
I ‘think’ this was one more attempt to ‘get the nose under the tent’, so to speak. I, for one, am glad to see it fail. Assimilation is supposed to be the goal when people come here...
Supposedly...

Islam is incompatible with the USA. It shouldn't be allowed here. It's not a religion - it's a political and legal system.
Just thinking out loud. If someone built what was essentially an all Moslem housing development you wouldn't really need more laws about housing discrimination because "normal" (you know what I'm saying) people would be disinclined to live anywhere near such a place., so no actual discrimination would be occurring, just self-selecting of a residency. On the other hand I agree with Texas and Gov. Abbot in signing this law. We don't need French style "banlieues" or Malmö no-go hellholes here. Those enclaves tend to metastasize.
