Not surprised. Similar thing was done to a Navy SEAL by hungry JAG officers and indifferent, at best, navy leadership. It took a civilian lawyer getting involved to find out that the prosecution's witness was the actual killer.

And after all that, the admiral in charge of Navy special ops(?) tried to take his 'Budweiser.' 🤬

Never trust JAGs nor "flags."

When you live in a 3rd world banana dictatorship, these things happen.

And that is what Australia has become.

Every soldier, sailor, and airman should desert the military and go home. Because this will come for all of them.

Dale Flowers's avatar

I couldn't urge desertion. Resignations or not reenlisting is the way to go. The loss of morale and knowing that your civilian leadership hates you will take its own toll. But, the accusations were made, nothing to do now but to pray and demand transparency. After the dust settles, hammer those who were grinding some axe for a bogus leftie agenda. Link me a Go Fund Me and I'm in.

If they're going to send you to prison for life for doing your job, then you need to stop doing it. If every single man and woman quits and goes home, hopefully somebody better will come in and take over.

If not? Then the citizens deserve whatever hell comes, because they voted for this.

I don't condone anarchy even if the government is guilty of it. If compelled to do something illegal and heinous I might desert to avoid a firing squad or imprisonment. But I would not advocate for mutiny or desertion from others. You stay loyal to your oath until your term of service is over or until your conscience tells you to quit. The oath we take is "pure" to most all servicemen. There are ways to quit without violating your duty or your oath. Desertion always incurs a severe penalty, even death in time of war. Further, if all the good guys desert who replaces them? Better men? I doubt it. I think we may be disagreeing on the meaning of terms and the real impact of those meanings to disparate individuals. But I am pretty sure my loathing of what they seem to be doing to that Aussie serviceman is greater than yours. When I was 21, an E-6 NGFS Supervisor on a Cruiser off the Vietnam coast we put naval gunfire on a friendly village and killed two children. Fog of war, collateral damage, a mistake on the spotter's part; he transposed numbers on the grid coordinates...that friendly village was not on our chart. We were exonerated after a fair investigation. The system works when good people are running it. Had there been bad people in charge I (we) might have been severely punished. I doubt anyone who heard the spotter scream at us to "Cease fire, cease fire, friendly vill" will ever forget it.

Looks like the five eyes is just down to us. When the King of England, the leader of the Christian Church of England, goes full retardant during Easter, when the Prince of Whales talks up Islam as a religion of peace, and Kirk Starmer stammers everywhere he goes… the Empire is gone. Europe in it’s “don’t piss off the migrants” it stands in the way or out military kicking the shit out of Iran to protect the flow of THEIR oil is the last stages of NATO involvement for the USA, and for good reason. “Iran isn’t our war” statements just shows how far the mighty have fallen with their give everyone money cause the USA will protect us is a good case for isolationism.

Someone should suggest that the prosecutors utilize an A.I. to build their case. Everyone knows that computers CAN'T make mistakes, so it should be an open and shut case. Who's up for drinks after the sentencing of this vile "War Criminal"?

Better yet, let's have the prosecutors reenact "as best able" the scenarios in which the accused found himself, with themselves as the accused. Make sure that they have "inert" weapons, while the opposition does not. Wouldn't want them to hurt anyone would we?

Dale Flowers's avatar

I dunno. Who really believe that the AI makers don't have biases and agendas. Look at the Silicon Valley track record. They're Borg, aren't they?

Sorry Dale. I figured that the "Everyone knows" was signalling sarcasm, along with all the reports of "Eh. Aye." and it's tendency to hallucinate, I figured it would parse. 🫤

Dale Flowers's avatar

Sometimes my parsing experiences parsimony. Yeah, it should have parsed but parsed right over my head. Thanks for the feedback.

I am becoming more and more convinced that we could do admirably well without a great many 'types' of folks. It's like what we need is a good 'reverse rapture'. Rather than snatching 'up' all of the righteous, snatch 'down' all of the idiots and evil.

A boy can dream, can't he?

Dream, as I have, of a much better past. Before we were infected with the; "diversity is our strength" virus.
