Schumer's Stupid Shutdown could only happen in the rarefied world of politicritters. The lack of real-world life experience (oxygen) affects the brain.

When grown-ass people pitch a tantrum (And John Fetterman becomes the voice of reason...) like this in the workplace, its time for new employees.

Fetterman was an object of ridicule. I find myself wanting to give him some respect now.

Sorry, John. I misjudged you.

Likewise.

In fact ... I'd go so far as to observe he seems to be turning into something of a statesman, versus a politician. I still generally don't like his politics and proposed solutions, but at least he recognizes there are issues bigger than himself and his party.

Ditto, Boris.

Nothing the Democrats do make any sense to an intelligent person. Same as it ever was.

I suspect that the loss of SNAP benefits was just grist for the Democrats' mill of "Elect me to keep you from this horror." However, when the shut down threatened air travel, that was too close to the Democrat Congressmen's rice bowl.

"What do you mean we can't take a private jet back home for Thanksgiving?! We have some constituents to visit!"

"Senator, what constituents could you have in Fiji?" 🤨

I’ve wondered the same thing about Bernie. Though he’ll get Schumered soon enough; he doesn’t seem to think the new radicals will come for him, but he forgets he’s part of the old guard too, and socialists and commies always eat their own, especially the old guard.

Yeah. Bernie is an Old Guard Soviet style Commie. He and the rest of the Old Guard will be supplanted by the Pol Pot's and bomb-throwers, those with a proven leadership style that can Get-Things-Done.

Re flights ... I had to fly this week, Sunday out and back home today, for a conference for work.

The only "problem" I had was, my original return flight was cancelled, and I had to rebook. (Which took all of 5 minutes while listening to a somewhat tedious speaker, so, no real time lost.) Leading to a tight connection this morning; but that was my choice, and it got me home a couple of hours earlier than the original flights would have.

Empty middle seat (yay!) on all four flights (two out and two back). The first, third and fourth flights were 1/2 full at most. TSA lines were very fast. Airports weren't crowded. So ... in fact, I'm kinda liking this.
