We've been hearing that hysterical, hyperbolic "blood in the streets" nonsense since Florida went "shall issue" back in the 1980s. And each time they've been wrong. In fact quite the opposite: in 2022, mere days after Ohio went constitutional carry, a young man named Eli Dicken, exercising that new right, stopped a mass shooting before it started with a stock Glock 19 and 15 seconds of rock-solid shooting at a place called Green Pines Mall. The kicker: the shooter had the same loadout as the Uvalde shooter -- a copycat.
Here in Florida there was a rash of carjackings, robberies and murder at the Interstate rest stops in the late 80s to mid 90s. Local youths preying on tourists mostly. Because in Florida most vehicle tags have the county on it. A Florida plate with no county meant it was a rental. Rental cars, out-of-state tags or Florida counties far away meant it was unlikely that if ever the perp was caught that the victim would return to the trial to testify. Crime paid. Crime also got more brutal. It culminated in the wanton killing of foreign tourists who'd already given up their wallets. Go figure, huh? Well, Florida got a better concealed carry law, and some armed security guards were assigned to the rest stops. But it was the huge increase in drivers with handguns at-the-ready that stopped that rest stop crime. Last year, Florida enacted permitless carry. There was no increase of blood in the streets.
Six more days until either 4 years of incessant confabulated "Russia collusion" and backstabbing or 8 years of cementing fundamental, transformational change into our national fabric. And you just know that both will cause a huge ass rash, right? The problem with ass rash is that it clouds judgement and makes one prone to outbursts of temper. Hoo-boy...time for another Novena.
Technically, since there was a break in between terms, Trump could theoretically get elected two more times, making him the first president since FDR to get elected to 3 terms.
Pretty sure that a person who serves a fraction of a term, like a V.P. stepping in for a departed President, could go on to serve 2 full terms afterward. But, as Trump has already served one full term, he is limited now to only one additional term.
Saw your substack, James. BZ for your service in the Army. I envy your being published. Wish I had the discipline.

And how many of those guns are chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and used by twisted hipsters… quietly raises my hand in the corner.
Old school here. Prefer a niche round. 7.62x39
30-30 over here... among other things.
When you think about it, 7.62x39 is what 30-30 would be if it was designed by drunk Russians...
30-06, 8mm, .22, and various gauges. Plus one that I’ve never been able to find ammo for, the Kyber Pass I picked up in the rock pile.

There won't be any novenas on the other side...just sayin...

I'm not sure about that...
Huh. I thought it was two consecutive terms, but I guess not.
