Sadly...
He's NOT wrong...
I truly hate to hear about the number of family restaurants, long time, restaurants, and historic restaurants that are closing their doors...
If you can, support those 'local' restaurants that continue to serve up the good, wholesome meals (or at least meals you actually enjoy eating).

Sadly, the people fast food restaurants, among other restaurants, hire are not at all sharp enough to manage menus and milkshake machines. For the most part. I've been surprised by the competence of the staff at In-n-Out Burger almost universally. However, being able to choose my McMeal down to the finest detail and getting the right amount of ice in a soft drink have been net positives for the fast food experience. 🤷♂️ So I can see the attraction from the customer side. From the corporate side, humans take breaks, come to work with personal matters unsettled, and other parts of the human experience that most humans have learned to deal with, unless you're an MBA or an HR "karen." 🤦♂️
I'd be happy to see McD's go the way of the dodo, myself. The stuff they serve is poison. When you leave one of their burgers out on a table it doesn't rot, it just slowly dessicates. I used to grab something from them maybe once or twice a year, when desperately hungry while out shopping or whatever. The last time I did that was a couple of years ago, one of their "wrap" sandwiches. Within 30 minutes I had noticible gut pain. For the same price (or less) I can get a tub of curried chicken salad at Trader Joe's. I''m sure it has a bit of sugar in it, but at least it's actual food.
