One or two wind turbines, a relatively small amount of power is removed. Have enough that you start to extract a substantial fraction of the total power and, well, you will indeed be impacting the local climate.
Giant solar farms are no better. Fry every bird that flies over, and destroys all the vegetation around them for acres. The old windmills and bits of passive solar for individuals can be a great thing, massive upscale, not so much. Like the massive corporate farms vs family farming.
Agree with every comment here so far. Clean nuclear is the way. Small scale wind and solar are awesome. When you scale it up it's an environmental disaster and an eyesore.
