Pushing the Middle East towards war? War has been the default state for the Middle East for all my life, plus. Occasionally slipping into an uneasy peace
The Djinnie has been out of the bottle since 1948. Regardless of who one might think started the conflict, you'd think that it would be simple to pick a side to support. Easy, pick the side that doesn't feel in their heart that extermination of the other is the only answer. Not so easy on the face of it. Then you have to select on other criteria. Then we are back to djinns and angels, albeit avenging angels. I have a hard time keeping my biases in check. So, honestly, I tend to root for the less savage and brutal side. Those who have some residual Old Testament values, Western Civilization roots. But can a side less savage and brutal win? I think that slipping into an uneasy peace is more like going back to your corner after you get your bell rung to chew some khat, have your cleric read some motivational passages from your Good Book and then go back at 'em. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K26RlIDJtkw
When Old Winnie Churchill got his fingers on the map, dividing up the remains of the Ottoman Empire after WW1, the djinn got shook like a toddler's Christmas present.
Old Winnie never understood that the map was not the culture or terrain; Gallipoli, Anzio, the Balkans had his mark all over them in 2 world wars.
According to internet rumor (take with grain of salt) one of the things taken out was the last flying F-14 in the Iranian Air Force. I imagine the USN aviation community is of mixed emotions about that. On the one hand, there must be a bit of relief that they weren't the ones who had to pull the trigger on the same kind of bird that served the Navy well. But on the other hand, there's that very American sense of responsibility that "you shoot your own dog."
Word on the street is that the IAF just lobtomized Iranian air defense by popping all the radars. If this is true it’s gonna take years to replace them with most of them having to come from Russia or China. Anyhow, that’s a good move
The most surprising thing about this, to me, is that it took Israel this long to get around to this point.
I am getting so sick of this shit, that I am thinking thoughts of how Tamerlane did things or more aptly Rome dealing with Carthage.....
That is the only thing that will stop this shit.

The Brits have a LOT of responsibility for the whole mess in the Middle East going back to Sir Cyril Radcliffe...
Even so, it is so sad to see the karma they are reaping now. There is still a bit of residual Anglophile in me.
Another member of the professional managerial class who thought he was much smarter than he actually was.
