I spent a bit of time working for AT&T up in Illinois, installing their U-Verse Internet & TV Service. It had a fantastic design theory behind it, until idiots got control and broke all the good parts of the design. What was finally getting installed was horrible.

IMO, AT&T is the BoA of telecommunications. I mourned (wrongfully) when the DOJ broke up AT&T and the Bell System in 1982 after an anti-trust lawsuit victory. They should have been given the Carthage treatment. My own animus stems from dealing with them as a county inspector in road building. Above the worker bee level they seemed to be arrogant piss ants who take joy in foot-dragging and causing frustrations. Gah...the railroads were easier to work with.
