Glad you had a good convention. And since you mentioned the topic of terminology...what is an NFO? 😉

Naval Flight Officer. I’m the person in the back that tells the pilot where to go and how to get there, sometimes, even politely!

My boss when I was an EWCS(SW)/CWO2 OpTech @ CPF in HI was an O-6 EA-6B NFO EWO & a former CO of a VAQ on a CV & @ NAS Whidbey Is. My 2 fav things are acronyms & midrats cinnamon rolls.

To a non veteran that looks like a Scrabble game achieved sentience and is about to lead a revolution. 😂

I know you weren't asking me but...the NFO (Naval Flight Officer) is the mission guy who usually earns the DFC for the pilot. In formal Navyspeak the pilot is called an "Aviator" by his peers or "the busdriver" by NFO's.

Having spent most of my life at or near sea level, anything at or above angels 4 or cherubs 42 can be problematic for some of us. Was in the mountains Southeast of SLC about 30 years ago hiking with a 4-H group in the mountains at about 8000 feet. Apoxia laid me low. People our age shouldn't even be on stepladders, you know?

It's such a great little conference/convention. It's the annual opportunity for us to meet pocket pals, hang with old friends, learn new things, and teach stuff. Totally worth driving 13 hours each way (oof)!
