I was a novice Anti-Submarine Air Controller on a deployed Guided Missile Destroyer at age 19. Early on in the deployment, I had three SH-3 helo's and two S-2 (Steuf's) under control. Your post reminded me of the level of snark used in the R/T conversations. Snark is useful in learning your craft. Far better than getting screamed at, slapped around by an angry Aviator or letting aircraft under your control stand into danger. IMO, I found them a patient lot and good teachers.
