That is almost certainly an example of someone who only survived into his teens because so many things come with warning labels now. (Which also makes him a very effective example of the way the preponderance of those same warning labels are fairly quickly reducing the average IQ of the human race.)
A friend told me of witnessing another fellow roping a deer from horseback. Neither the deer nor the horse were pleased with this experiment, and all three of them ended up entangled in a Gordian Knot of Shame. That deer bounced every direction known to man, wrapping itself and the cowboy, as well as his horse, in about as tight a constriction as possible. Needless to say the rope was the ultimate loser of the contest, it having to be cut in numerous places to extricate all involved. All of the participants survived, but were far wiser after the experience.
Snicker .... you were lucky that you didn't try to rope a mature doe with a fawn nearby!
Those big nannies have been know to throw coyotes or feral dogs 20 feet with the bite and shake technique, and then proceed to curb stomp the canid into ant food.
A ranger in a national park told me they had more injuries from deer than bear because people did not have the same fear reaction and many wanted to pet the "bambi".
Also, the next time he can review the laws in his state concerning capturing wildlife with the intention to feed it out for eventual slaughter. Do they sell a deer tag for that?
Maybe next time you're at that feeder, bring a compound bow with a Swhacker broadhead... from about 10 yards away, you should be able to drop him and harvest the bounty. (and the others probably won't even be spooked)
Just like cattle, I think they exist and actually hope to be the finest meals for humans to enjoy.
There's a famous venison recipe that begins "first catch a deer..."

"What could POSSIBLY go wrong?"
NFO, you were visited by the Good Idea Fairy.

I am ashamed at how hard I laughed at this.

Two Words: Natural Selection.
(It's Real :)

Next time just use a rifle like the good Lord intended.

You know it’s got to be restricted, taxed or licensed somehow.
...and fined.

That was fascinating. So all deer aren't like Bambi and his mother.
Thats why I say; when born, we have about 10,000 good ideas in our head. Once used, the idea is gone.
I suppose this person is glad that idea is no longer.....
