Common sense if you ask me. I don't doubt there are those who do need help. They should receive it, however, strings attached to the assistance not only control the recipients actions, they make it attractive to get off the dole as soon as possible.
I have never understood how, as we witnessed in the last couple of weeks, someone could complain about losing their SNAP benefits while holding a new, $1,000 plus I-Phone. That does not compute for me.
There are people who also posit that government employees should not vote because it's a conflict of interest. Is that a bridge too far? But I strongly assert that government employee unions should not be allowed.
